About the programme

The BBA programme balances practical application with the development and maintenance of solid communication and analytical skills. Instructors utilise a variety of teaching methods including lectures, discussions, role play, case studies, visits, visits and simulation. Students use texts, journals, videocassettes and the Internet to complete group assignments and conduct independent research projects. While the majority of the course work is the same for all students in the first year, during the other two years students major in Marketing, Human Resources Management, and Procurement. The mission of the Faculty of Business and Economics is to:

  • Develop both theoretical and practical tools necessary for entry into and advancement in business and other organizations as well as preparation for graduate study.
  • Develop a broad based knowledge of the discipline which is appropriate to a variety of organizations.

BBA is a three year program. Core courses are offered in Accounts, Management, Economics, ICT, Business Communication and Soft Skills,Entrepreneurship, Business Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, and Development Studies. In their final year, students undertake a research project. The structure of the programme showing the courses and credit hours per

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

Category A: Direct Entry (Form Six)

  • Two or more principal passes at the same sitting of the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) in
  • the following subjects. All commercial subjects i.e. economics, commerce and accountancy with a B grade or better in Mathematics in Form IV Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE). All science combinations except religious studies.
  • Two principal level passes in commercial subjects not at the same sitting provided they are both of grade C or higher with a pass of B or better in mathematics at “O” level. In addition one must have at least a subsidiary pass in mathematics at “A” level or a grade of B at “O” level.

Category B: Equivalent Qualifications

  • Must have at least 3 credits or 5 passes at O’level and Ordinary diploma of not less than second-class approved by Senate. The grade in statistics or mathematics in the diploma should be B or better otherwise the candidate must have a grade of B or better in form IV Mathematics. OR
  • Advanced diploma (no classification is required). The grade in statistics or mathematics or quantitative methods in the diploma should be C or better otherwise the candidate must have at least a grade of B in form IV Additional mathematics.


Category C: Mature Age Entr

  • The applicant must meet IUCo’s Mature Entry Conditions.
